Ray Grappone is native
New Yorker, born and raised in Brooklyn. He holds
a B.A.from CUNY in percussion performance,and
a M.A in Music Education from Lehman College.
Mr. Grappone is co-founder, and President of
HipBone Records in New York City. HipBone
records has produced 12 records, and has licensed
tracks to over 20 worldwide CD complilations.
He is also partners in the production team of
Cookin With Gas Productions, and Children
of Planet Earth Productions. As a solo
artist he has recorded two LP's that feature his
drumming and percussion talents: Double Drums,
and Skins, Metal & Wood (HipBone Beats & Grooves
Series). In addition to his work at HipBone, he
is a very accomplished studio and live performer
and has toured internationally to over 15 countries.
Some favorite experiences include recording and
performing with Carole King, Bette Midler,
Petula Clark, Helen Reddy, Martin Short, Twiggy,
Steven Stills, Levon Helm. In New York he
drummed over a dozen Broadway shows and has recorded
notable cast albums. Currently Mr. Grappone does
much of the same.
